Stillwater, Okla.-based OnCue collected $351,000 during the 28th annual St. Jude Halloween Promotion to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
OnCue and its 75 Oklahoma locations has raised $2,338,664 for St. Jude over the course of their 13-year partnership, making it the largest regional partner for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and surpassing its $2.3 million goal.
During the month of October, OnCue asked customers to donate at the register to support the hospital’s lifesaving mission of finding cures and saving children.
In exchange for contributing $1 or more, patrons received a Halloween-themed pinup displaying a St. Jude patient.
In addition to participating in the Halloween promotion, OnCue has added other fundraising initiatives in recent years, including selling a limited-edition co-branded cup benefiting St. Jude, participating in the 2019 Oklahoma City St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer and hosting a golf tournament with more than 160 participants.
“As our fundraising efforts grow each year, so do our hearts for St. Jude’s mission,” said Jim Griffith, OnCue CEO. “Nothing compares to the moment when a St. Jude family says thank you for another birthday or holiday with our child. It reminds us that there is still more to be done to ensure that no child dies from cancer. Thank you to all our dedicated employees and customers who play a critical role in this effort. ”
Treatments invented at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since the hospital opened more than 50 years ago.
Because of fundraisers like the St. Jude Halloween Promotion, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food. St. Jude believes all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
