OnCue is partnering with Court Appointed Special Advocates throughout Oklahoma to release a limited-edition cup that will raise funds for CASA programs across the state. For every cup sold, OnCue will contribute 50 cents to each store’s local CASA program.
CASA programs recruit, train, and support community volunteers that advocate for safe, permanent homes for the over 9,000 children in foster care in Oklahoma. CASA volunteers are non-paid adults who are appointed by judges to advocate for foster children’s best interests and remain with the child until a safe, permanent home is found. They are a consistent adult presence during what can be a traumatic time for a child.
“These cups are a way for us to help some of the most silenced members of our community, foster children, and support those who are champions for their best interest during difficult times,” said Laura Aufleger, President of OnCue.
“We are so thankful for this exciting partnership with OnCue to raise community awareness and support for CASA programs and the needs of foster youth across the state of Oklahoma. At CASA our work is predicated on community involvement and volunteerism and we are excited to have OnCue as a key community partner,” said Jennie Hill, Executive Director of CASA of Oklahoma County, Inc.
OnCue operates stores in seven CASA program service areas, each of which will be a recipient of the funds raised. The cups are available now through March, or as long as supplies last.
The cup retails for $1.99 and can be reused at a refill price. For information on other CASA programs around the state, visit the Oklahoma CASA Association website at oklahomacasa.org.
